Women's Tennis Falls in NCAA Quarterfinals

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL. -- The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team lost to second-ranked Lynn University by a 5-0 score in the NCAA Division II national quarterfinals in Altamonte Springs, FL. The Huskies end their season with a mark of 15-6.

Lynn (26-0) went on top 3-0 in doubles play, part of which was interrupted by a two-hour rain delay. At number one doubles the team of Alison Carney (Muncy/Warrior Run) and Emily Palko (McMurray/Peters Township) lost by an 8-4 score.

The Fighting Knights closed out the match with identical 6-1, 6-0 wins at number five and six singles with over Andrea Malatesta (Berwick/Berwick) and Kristen Bonito (Bridgewater, MA/Coyle Cassidy).
